«Emmer Kulturpreis»
to Judith Huber
from point de vue !

The municipality of Emmen is awarding this year's Culture Prize to performance artist Judith Huber.
She is being honoured for her commitment and her work as an organizer and networker.

The Scottish-born artist, who has lived in Emmenbrücke for 20 years and has worked as an administrator at point de vue for 11 years, manages to get strangers involved in something together with her work, writes the municipality of Emmen. Huber has also built up an impressive reputation as an organizer and networker in Switzerland and internationally.

With the prize, which is endowed with 3,000 francs, the municipality wants to honor Huber for her commitment and make performance art more visible.
"It is a very special honor to win the culture prize in my adopted home," Judith Huber is quoted as saying in the press release.

We are proud of our point de vue colleague and congratulate her warmly!

THE VALUE OF THINGS
will premiere at the 59th Solothurn Film Festival 2024

Our member and cameraman Simon Denzler was involved in the ZHdK-produced graduation film by Tobias Luchsinger in collaboration with Fabienne Steiner as a cinematographer.

Now The Value of Things will celebrate its premiere at the 59th Solothurn Film Festival on January 19 at 12:15 pm.

How can we live more sustainably? Construction engineer Felix, fashion designer Sanaz and food activist Dominik address this question. They prefer to look for solutions rather than just discuss them. A film crew accompanies the three young people and looks for ways to produce their film as sustainably as possible. They produce their own electricity, eat ecologically and use sustainable means of transport. Together they overcome resistance and show that change is possible.

FRONTIÈRES
open until 8 October 2023.

The exhibition FRONTIÈRES at the Musée Historique Lausanne, for which we produced several video works under the direction of Jonas Schaffter, is open until 8 October 2023. The exhibition focuses on the Lausanne Treaty of 1923.

The Treaty of Lausanne was signed on 24 July 1923 and is the only one of the post-conflict agreements that still has an impact. The exhibition links the different periods together and leaves plenty of room to question memory.

OFFSIDE ISTANBUL new on PLAY SUISSE

The documentary Offside Istanbul (2015) by Jonas Schaffter is now available (and free) on the streaming platform play suisse.

«Every day, African footballers are washed ashore in the dazzling megacity of Istanbul. They arrive at the Bosporus, driven by their dream of a life as a star and attracted by false promises. The dream turns into tough reality. And the football career is far from sight. The filmmaker accompanied some of these football talents for over six months. A story not only of desolation, but also of strong personalities, their zest for life and unshakeable hope.»
