The Last Impression

The journey to his German grandparents is overshadowed by anxiety for the Swiss filmmaker. The older they get, the more urgently the question arises as to when the last visit will be. Milan Büttner documents how his grandparents cope with everyday life together in the 70th year of their marriage and how their perception of the present is haunted by the war experiences of their youth. Their current fears increasingly mingle with their traumatic memories. However, when they receive guests in their small apartment, they find peace and serenity.
