TRANSIT LANDSCAPE

Hundreds of photographs taken as snapshots during a train journey from Chicago to Detroit become the starting point for an exploration of the ephemeral gaze. The photographic record of this journey is layered, slowed down and shaped into a meditative contemplation of "landscape in transformation". A visual archaeology of landscape emerges. Hauser's sound track expands this multi-layered, transparent visual space with cymbals and polyphonic singing. Like a breathing organism, his archaic sound layers unfold and connect with the slowly appearing and disappearing images.

Transit Landscape was shown in 2022 at Kunsthaus Baselland in the Sweet Spot exhibition and at the Bern Music Festival in the Rex cinema.
