Merkwürdige Dreiecke (AT)
People want to be mobile because, as we all know, it's nicer to be far away. And so he builds roads, railroad lines and bridges criss-crossing the landscape. Dissatisfied with the result, he installs works of art, benches and even defines nature conservation zones. Flowers and sheep are to transform the urban stress zone into a recreational zone. We are at the imposing “Horburgrampe” of the highway section Nordtangente in Basel, a symbol of the once heated traffic debate. The traffic routes fragment the landscape and the resulting residual areas - described by sociologist Lucius Burkhardt as “strange triangles” - unexpectedly become a stage. Because there is far more than just traffic. The multi-layered transit area is a cultural, social and political space. and political space. The documentary film “Strange Triangles” contrasts the hectic hustle and bustle observation and discovers a kaleidoscopic image of our society kaleidoscopic image of our society.
